Simplification is the key. Listen to the client, understand their audience and solve their problems.

Over the past 12 years Mark has worked for a number of agencies both in Australia and his native UK, and brings this experience to every challenge he faces.

His knowledge of the industry spans multiple fields with time spent art directing magazines to crafting packaging for celebrity chefs. Not one to limit himself to specialising in one area of the industry, Mark views the role of designers as allround creatives with extra value emphasised on the ability to approach projects strategically as well as the quality copywriting.

Since learning his craft at a number of agencies throughout the UK, Mark has become a believer in the motto ‘making the complex, simple’. Simplification is the key to everything he produces. By asking the ‘why’ questions and probing deep enough to really understand a business problem, he is able to find the simplest, and most effective, solutions. Storytelling is also a key aspect of his work as he believes that once strong, genuine brand stories are established, you are able to meaningfully engage with an audience.

A self-confessed typography fanatic, this appreciation for letterforms and attention to detail has become a trademark of the quality that can be found in the work he produces and encourages within the studio environment.

Mark’s interest in design does not stop outside the studio. Regularly attending design talks and conferences, Mark is one of the founding members and contributor to the industry website, ‘Designers Journal’.
